TRAGEDY: 4 killed, 10 injured as gunman opened fire at different locations in California
The worrying and senseless shooting sprees that has gripped the United States of America in recent times continued again after a gunman killed four victims and injured 10 others when he opened fire at multiple locations in California including an elementary school.
According to the local sherriff’s office, the assailant armed with a semi-automatic rifle and two handguns, opened fire in multiple locations in Tehama County, northern California, before he was gunned down by police.
“We have multiple shots fired in Rancho Tehama. That evolved to multiple victims,” Undersheriff Phil Johnston, of the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office, told reporters.
Two weeks ago, a man walked into a small Texas church and opened fire as the congregation were involved in weekly service, leaving at least 20 dead and a number of others injured.
The mass shooting occurred at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, about 30 miles from San Antonio, with witness saying that the gunman, who was yet to be officially identified, started shooting about 11.30am local time.
The gunman was later “taken down” by authorities, according to Wilson County Sheriff Joe Tackitt who said that at least 20 people had died, with local media saying it amounted to around half the congregation.
