Anambra guber candidate Chidoka tackles Buhari over comments on Nigeria’s unity, S’East invasion by soldiers

United Peoples Party (UPP) candidate in the coming November 18 governorship election in Anambra State, Chief Osita Chidoka, has said that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government was wrong by sending soldiers to allegedly commit mass murder in Igboland.

Chidoka, who faulted the Federal Government for branding the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a terrorist group, also disagreed with President Buhari that the unity of Nigeria is not negotiable.

According to the UPP governorship candidate, the unity of Nigeria is negotiable and was even negotiated in the first place by the country’s founding fathers including Sir Ahmadu Bello, Dr. Nnamdi Azikwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

The governorship hopeful stated this at the Enugu sports club on Wednesday while addressing citizens residing in the state on what his blueprint for development for Anambra is.

According to Chidoka, one of the ways the South-East will move forward was to join forces together and establish a coal power plant. This he said, was because the gas-powered plants are costly power generation models and cannot be sustained under the present price regime that is cheaper than the production cost.

He told his listeners that the coming election in Anambra State will determine the future of Ndigbo and Anambra state in particular.

While he promised to “manage Anambra to produce human resources,” Chidoka also vowed to make the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state greater than the federal allocations for the state, should he be elected governor come November 18.

“I am the only candidate discussing how to turn around Anambra State. My role is to take Ndigbo, Anambra to a higher purpose. My vision is to build a world class model state in Nigeria.

“I want to run a transparent based government driven by Ndi-Anambra aspiration. Our strategy is to play in the digital economy, reform core values based on knowledge, vision, execution and sustenance,” Chidoka pledged,” he added.
