Gentlemen! This shoe has been described as the “most advanced” dress shoe. It’s not for mere mortals… Only the true stylish gentlemen can wear them. It’s called the Double Monk Strap shoe.

The double monk strap shoe is the dress shoe of the season…two straps, two buckles…they are the hottest trend in men’s shoes. Wearing one is a great way to stand out from the crowd. But I must really warn you – not just any man can pull off the look – only the bold stylish gentleman can.

It is my favorite style of shoe and a great shoe for any occasion. It goes with just about anything and always looks sharp. I wear it with my business suits, for a lot of business casual occasions as well as when I’m dressed in chinos or dark colored jeans.

A) IT COMES IN A WIDE VARIETY OF STYLES AND DIFFERENT SHADES OF COLOURS SUCH AS TAN, DARK BROWN, REDDISH BROWN, BURGUNDY ETC.

For your first monk strap shoe I suggest you go for the dark brown or reddish brown which you can wear with many outfits.

B) IN TERMS OF MATERIAL, SOME COME IN SUEDE LEATHER, PATENT LEATHER OR REGULAR LEATHER.

A suede leather is perfect for a casual or business casual occasion and can come in other different colors such as navy blue, brown, red, power blue etc. I would recommend going for a chocolate brown suede leather or regular leather for a simple casual occasion. For a formal occasion you should wear a black regular or patent leather.

Never wear a black colored double monk strap shoe with jeans or chinos except it’s with a black jeans/chinos. As much as possible, wear black for only formal or semi-formal occasions.

F) In terms of how to wear them, first, you should know that you can wear them with or without socks.

For a more casual or business casual, you can go sock-less however, make sure there is slight break in your pants – stick to NO BREAK OR HALF BREAK and ensure the width of the bottom of your trouser is quite slim somewhere between 14 and 15 inches in circumference.

For a formal or business formal occasion, you should always wear it with socks. A solid black, navy or grey socks is perfect for formal or business formal occasions while an argyle, printed or spotty socks is also a good option for business casual or casual occasions.

FINAL THOUGHTS

So that’s it gents – the double monk strap shoe is the most stylish shoe a man can own. It scores 100% in terms of versatility and style. So the next time you’re out shopping for a pair of quality leather dress shoes, don’t forget about the double monk strap shoe.

One last thing you’ll need is a shoe horn. This is necessary in order to preserve the shape and structure of the shoe especially since this shoe doesn’t have laces. To use this – Place your heel on top and slide your foot/heel on the shoe horn. Remove the shoe horn when your foot is fully inside the shoe. Don’t forget to place shoe trees in your shoes when you’re not wearing them.
