Buhari was closest to Abacha, there’s no truth in his graft war –Ex-gov Lamido
Former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has described President Muhammadu Buhari’s All Progressives Congress (APC) party as an amalgamation of pain, anger and desperation.
He also said that the anti-corruption fight of President Buhari, who he described as a closest pal to the late military dictator, Sani Abacha, is a ruse.
Lamido who stated this when he spoke with the Hausa Service of the BBC, also questioned how Buhari could be talking about fighting corruption having worked very closely with Abacha.
He said, “He worked under Abacha; in fact he was the closest to the late military ruler and when it comes to corruption, everybody knows where Abacha’s government stands. Buhari is just making noise; there’s no iota of truth in the so-called commitment to the improvement of security and halting graft in the country.
“It’s unthinkable to say that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had discovered huge monies in a building in Lagos but could not track the real owner; who leaked the story? Who did the source say is the owner of the find?”
“Those in position of authority should always have the courage to tell the led the truth because leadership is sacred”, Lamido stated.
