FG appeals Ademola judgement, initiates fresh case at CCT

Apparently not happy with the Wednesday April 5, 2017 judgement of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, which nullified the corruption charges against Justice Adeniyi Ademola, the Federal Government is said to have appealed the ruling.

FG is said to have also through the Federal Ministry of Justice, filed a fresh case in the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) against Justice Ademola and wife, Olabowale for living above their income and not declaring their assets.

The FCT High Court presided over by Justice Jude Okeke had in his ruling on the corruption case levelled against Ademola, his wife and Joe Agi (SAN) by the FG, upheld a no case submission application filed by the defendants.

Justice Okeke struck out the 18-count charge levelled against the defendants after submitting that the prosecution was unable to prove any of the allegations despite the provisions of sections 53 and 60 of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act (ICPC Act).

The Ademolas, and Agi were dragged before the court last year by the Attorney-General of the Federation following a raid on Justice Ademola’s residence by operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS) on October 7, 2016.
