Trump’s aide quits after allegations that he abused his ex-wives
Yet another high profile member of Donald Trump’s administration has thrown in the towel after White House staff secretary Rob Porter resigned from his position following allegations of abuse on his ex-wives.
Moments after he announced that he would step down, Prorter said the claims made against him by his two ex-wives “are simply false”.
According to reports, the ex-wives of Porter, Colbie Holderness and Jennifer Willoughby, have both vividly recounted the stories of abuse they suffered in the hands of their former husband.
His first spouse, Ms Holderness, said the White House aide had been verbally and physically abusive.
His second spouse, Ms Willoughby, a motivational speaker, wrote about her experiences in a blog post entitled Why I Stayed.
She was married to Mr Porter from 2009-13.
Mr Prorter is the third high profile member of Trump’s administration to resign in recent times after FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe stepped down from his role following several weeks of harsh criticism targeted at the US President.
Before McCable threw in the towel Steve Wynn, the finance chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) quit his role following allegations of s3xual harassment leveled against him.
Reports say the 76-year-old billionaire and casino mogul stepped down after a Wall Street Journal report on Friday alleged that he harassed massage therapists and forced one staff member to have s3x with him.
