PORT HARCOURT: Sacked driver and his cohorts arrested for allegedly abducting his former boss

The long arm of the law has caught up with Tekena Silva, 26, for the alleged abduction of his former boss, Chief Nemi Adoki, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Menakeb Limited.

According to reports, the suspect was arrested alongside five other members identified as Justice Timothy (22), Akpos Livinus (33), Daniel Allen (27), Kelvin Alpheus (30) and David Abak (29) by detectives attached to the Inspector-General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT), led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abba Kyari.

A police source said Tekena brought the kidnapping job to the group and subsequently got paid N1 million as his own share after his boss was abducted on December 15, 2017 and later released on January 4, 2018 after his family paid a ransom of N9 million.

The source also added that during the kidnap of Adoki, 61, at No.129 Victoria Street in Port Harcourt a man identified as Mr. Maikano Abdullahi was also killed.

“Following Abdullahi’s murder and Adoki’s abduction, the IG deployed operatives to the state. During unrelenting investigation, the operatives arrested six members of the kidnapping gang from different locations in Rivers and Bayelsa states,” the source said.
