Musa ‘happy and proud’ to rejoin CSKA Moscow

Following a loan move from Leicester City, Super Eagles winger, Ahmed Musa, says he is happy and proud to return to his former club, CSKA Moscow.

The former Kano Pillars star rejoined the Russian Premier League giants on Tuesday, as the club announced that he will play until the end of the 2017/18 season.

Musa, who joined Leicester in 2016, failed to tie down a regular playing time, and has not made a single appearance in the Premier League for the Foxes this season.

Having only had just one appearance in the Carabao Cup, the 25-year old could not hold his joy as a return to Moscow have brought hope of him playing regularly as the FIFA World Cup approaches.

“I am very happy and proud to be back. This is truly my home, champion team that fights for the top awards and occupies highest places. I am back to red-blue family!,” CSKA quoted Musa on their verified Twitter handle.

The club had earlier announced that the Nigeria international will be included in Red-Blues’ squad list for both the national league and the UEFA Europa League.

And Musa was also handed the number 7 jersey.

Meanwhile, during his first spell at the club, he made 125 appearances, scoring 42 goals; won three Russian league titles in 2013, 2014 and 2016; one Cup in 2013, and two Super Cup titles in 2013 and 2014.
