Gunmen abduct lawmaker’s mother, sister, demand N30m ransom
The residence of Mr. Kassim Mohammed-Kassim member, representing the Akwanga South State Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly was stormed by gunmen who abducted his mother and sister.
Confirming the abduction of the two women and the demand of N30 million as ransom by the kidnappers, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state command, Kennedy Idirisu said the gunmen came in their numbers.
Idrisu informed that the kidnappers stormed the home of the All Progressives Congress lawmaker at Moroa in Akwanga at about 8pm, shooting sporadically before whisking away the mother and sister of the politician.
The state PPRO revealed that the command were on the trail of the kidnappers and also called on members of the public to provide useful information that would lead to the arrest of the gunmen.
“As we speak, our men are already combing the areas in search of the victims and to apprehend the perpetrators,” Idirisu said.
