Jim Iyke opens up on his failed relationship with Rita Dominic (Video)

Nollywood’s ‘bad boy’ Jim Iyke has revealed in an interview with Broadway TV that he was once in a relationship with Rita Dominic which didn’t last because they were both in a space where they never thought of longevity at the time.

The actor said they both met when he was just beginning to hug the limelight and that they were very deep with each other during the period. He added, however, that he later discovered Rita was not the kind of girl that would wait for growth.

Jim said; “I was just beginning to embrace fame when we both met and dated for a while and during the period I discovered she is not the type of girl that will wait for growth. We were very deep with each other at the time and we are still friends till this moment.

“We don’t speak on a constant basis at the moment anyway and you’ll be shocked that I haven’t called her in the last two years. But when we meet, we are cordial, we are respectful, and there’s always the oozing of the intimacy we shared in the past each time we meet.”

In a related development, Jim Iyke also refuted his much publicised romance with Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari stating that there was nothing between them. Jim said they both took advantage of a reality TV shoot at the time to flood social media with their photos which got tongues waging.

“Things didn’t get messy as people thought. Two people met in the entertainment industry and there was a reality show at a time that kept us together.

“So, we did a smart thing anybody who found himself or herself in such situation would have done. And when the entertainment was over, we moved on to our normal lives.

“For anyone who thought anything extraordinary happened, it was a live show except that it played into our personal lives too. I got what I wanted, which was followership and I appreciate the audience for watching.

“She understood what she was coming into and I understood as well. We got the mileage we both wanted and we moved on with our lives. Five years down the lane, people are still talking about it,” Jim said.
