Iheanacho scores first Leicester goal in Leeds win, as Arsenal, City, United make Carabao Cup q/finals
Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho was on target as Leicester came from behind to win over Leeds United in a Carabao Cup fourth-round clash on Tuesday night.
It was the Nigerian’s first ever goal for the King Power club since completing a £25m move from Manchester City at the start of the season.
Pablo Hernandez gave Leeds the lead in the 26th minute before Iheanacho drew Leicester level on the half-hour mark, sweeping home after Islam Slimani failed to score.
In the 70th minute, the Algerian striker made it 2-1 thanks to an Iheanacho assist before his compatriot Riyad Mahrez scored on 88 minutes to end the game at 3-1.
Leicester have thus advanced to the quarterfinals of the competition, alongside, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Bournemouth and Bristol City, who all won their ties on Tuesday night.
Premier League champions, Chelsea will host Everton on Wednesday night as Tottenham will also take on West Ham. Winners of both ties will join the other teams in the last eight.
