EFCC re-arraigns Jonathan’s godson Turner, 2 others for alleged N3BN fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday re-arraigned ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s godson George Turnah for an alleged N3 billion fraud.

Turnah, a former special adviser to Dan Abia, an erstwhile managing director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) was re-arraigned before Justice Ibrahim Watila of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

He was re-arraigned alongside two others on a 12-count amended charge of money laundering, abuse of office and obtaining by false pretense to the tune of N3,094, 268, 235.69 (Three Billion, Ninety Four Million, Two Hundred and Sixty Eight Thousand, Two Hundred and Thirty Five Naira, Sixty Nine kobo).

Nine companies linked to the suspects were also arraigned with them. The other two suspects arraigned with Turnah are Ebis Orubebe and Uzogor Silas Chidiebere.

Justice Watila had granted Turnah N300 million bail and two sureties in like sum in his earlier arraignment by the EFCC. The court also said he must get a paramount ruler, whose office should be recognised by the Government of the state.
