Cops nab robbers who attacked a University VC
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, has confirmed the arrest of four robbery suspects who attacked the Vice Chancellor of Crawford University.
The Ogun State PPRO said the robbers who attacked Professor Rotimi Ajayi were arrested by operatives of Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) after storming their hideout in Seme.
The bandits had on January 27, this year, attacked the vice chancellor along Atan-Igbesa road and dispossessed him of his Toyota Highlander Jeep, five mobile phones, an iPad and some cash sums.
Oyeyemi, who stated that the police had been on the trail of the suspects gave the names of the suspects as Adewale Rasaq, 27, Keneth Ohimai, 38, Segun Idike, 19 and Hassan Mussa, 25.
The PPRO informed that the suspects were said to have escaped to their hideout in Seme border, a settlement on the Nigeria-Benin Republic border where they were arrested.
Recovered from the robbery suspects are four pump action guns, one locally made pistol and 30 live cartridges were recovered from the suspects.
