Breaking News: Body of man who jumped into Lagos Lagoon found
The body of a Dr. Allwell Orji who committed suicide by jumping into the Lagos Lagoon when he asked his driver to suddenly stop while driving past the 3rd mainland bridge on Sunday has been found.
According to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni who confirmed the development, the body of the deceased was found by the Marine Police.
Reports say the mother of the deceased said her son was at home praying with other members of their family and church pastor when he left home all of a sudden.
She said she thought her son had gone to the barbers shop to have a haircut but got the shock of her life hours later when news of her son jumping to his death filtered in.
A former driver who chauffeured Dr. Allwell around Lagos before the new driver was employed when questioned revealed that he noticed that the deceased was usually withdrawn in most cases when he was still under his employ.
It has also been revealed by sources who know the deceased that he also tried to commit suicide about four-years-ago when he tried jumping down from the family’s two-storey building located at Odunukan Street, Ebute-Ejigbo, off Morroco Road, near University of Lagos.
Ever since then, his family had been monitoring him and even employed a new driver to take him around until he jumped to his untimely death two days ago.
