Dr. Orji: Police to scan deceased’s mobile phone as corpse is returned to family

Hours after discovering the corpse of Dr. Allwell Orji at the Onikan end of the Lagos Lagoon, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni has informed that command will work together with the mother of the deceased to dig into information on his mobile phone to unravel why he jumped to his death.

According to the CP, the state police command will conduct an analysis on the mobile phone of the late doctor to unravel the circumstances surrounding his suicide.

“The corpse was recovered by the Marine Police. The police will use technical platforms to analyse his phone to investigate the suicide,” he said.

The CP added that Orji’s remains were “identified by some of his family members, including the driver”.

Meanwhile, the corpse of the late doctor has been handed over to handed over to his family after the body was recovered on Wednesday.

Mr Adesina Tiamiyu, the General Manager of LASEMA, revealed that the body of Dr.Orji was recovered at about 4.00 p.m. by the Marine Police. He said,“The body has been handed over to the family while investigation continues.”

The general manager expressed his condolences on behalf of the State Government and declared the search closed.
