Man arrested and arraigned for raping 7-yr-old neighbor

The long arm of the law has caught up with Hussaini Surajo, after he allegedly raped his neighbours 7-year-old step-daughter at Katoge village in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Reports say Surajo’s act was reported at the Dandume police station by the girl’s step father Sulaiman Abdu, who revealed that the suspect injured the victims private part in the process of raping her.

Abdu told the police that Surajo committed the crime when he lured the girl to a farm where he forcefully had carnal knowledge with her.

The suspect was later charged to court after findings revealed that he tore the victims private part while trying to force his way into her even as traces of his sperm were found in the victims private part.

Surajo who was charged for rape contrary to Section 283 of the Penal Code was paraded before the Katsina Senior Magistrate’s court on Monday.

While in court, the First Information Report on the incident read thus by the prosecutor; “You, Hussaini Surajo, 19 years, alias Mallam , deceived and took the victim inside a farm of one of your friends of the same address and forcefully had unlawful sexual intercourse with her.

“As a result, you released your sperm in her private part and also wounded her vagina, contrary to Section 283 of the Penal Code.”

The case was however adjourned till May 10, 2018, by Senior Magistrate Hajiya Falile Dikko who ordered that the accused be remanded in prison.
