Police nabs parents, son, girlfriend for robbing neighbour
The long arm of the law has caught up with an eighteen-year-old suspect identified as Tega Teddy alongside his cohorts including his father Mr. Uroye Teddy, 45, his mother Mrs. Margaret Teddy and his girlfriend Karim Edom for stealing property belonging to one Mrs Folashade Odunuga.
Reports say the victim Mrs Odunuga, a resident of No. 8 Ade Onitiri, Harmony Estate, Langbasa, Ajah had embarked on 3-month vacation which her neighbour, Karim Edom got wind of it and in turn informed her boyfriend who hatched a plan to steal property belonging to the victim.
Reports say the suspect Tega broke into the apartment of the victim stealing valuable property including a car.
The nefarious act of Tega and his cohorts was discovered by the victim’s househelp, one Eniola Abisola who visited her mistress’ house and discovered that a lot of items were missing.
Eniola promptly alerted the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in-charge of Langbasa Division, SP. Adaobi Okafor who mobilised her detectives to check on all in the neighbourhood whose names are on the station’s watch list.

When the detectives checked on Tega, they saw the stolen Chevrolette Aveo saloon car with registration number AKD 512 AP, parked in the front his parents’ house at New Osho layout, Langbasa. He was promptly arrested.
In his confessional statement, the suspect said he entered the victim’s house through the ceiling and gradually, he began to pack the household items to his father’s house.
He narrated that his mother helped him to hide the stolen items in an uncompleted building while his girlfriend Karima, hid some in her house.
Tega, further revealed that his father went with him to the victim’s house to tow the aforementioned car which his mother had already put up for sale alongside other stolen items.
Other exhibits recovered from Tega and his band of thieves include; a Chevrolette saloon car reg no. AKD 512 AP, 42 inches flat screen TV, LG Home theatre sound system, electric generator, one standing fan, 5 leather bags, an iPad, baby shoes and other personal items.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgal, charged Lagosians to take their personal security seriously by ensuring that their houses are entrusted in the hands of trusted relations, friends or aides whenever they travel.
