APC may force Sen Sani to dump party
The actions of the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) which have reportedly forced many prominent members to abandon ship may soon extend to Senator Shehu Sani.
Sen. Sani, representing Kaduna South has been at loggerheads with the state’s governor, Nasir El’Rufai, and is a very vocal critic of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
He was recently suspended by the party at the ward level for what was described as anti-party activities, among other things.
The lawmaker who had severally hinted on dumping the APC, has so far not done such, although a number of his colleagues, including the Senate President Bukola Saraki have decamped form the APC.
Though evident Sani has not made up his mind, the party may force his hands going by recent developments.
The party in a letter to the senator dated 31st July, 2018 and signed by Ibrahim Salisu Togo, ward chairman of APC Tudun Wada North said Sen Sani remains suspended unless he publicly apologizes to the party’s leadership.
The letter claimed that Sani had embarrassed the party’s leadership and that his indefinite suspension would remain until he does the needful.
